Diagnosis and treatment

Once the dental crown has been opened, access is gained to the canals where the pulp is located and the following steps are carried out cleaning the root canals. Finally, it is filled with a biocompatible material, based on gutta-percha with a cement, to ensure the sealing of the ducts. Finally, the tooth is restored.

Types of endodontics

Endodontics can be classified into three types, depending on the number of roots of the affected tooth:

Uniradicular

Birradicular

This is performed on teeth that have more than one root, such as premolars and some molars.

Polyradicular

This type of endodontics is performed on the last molars in the mouth, which are those with more than two roots.
